Video: Japanese words | Hiragana | Na-adjectives Part I
For today’s video, we’ll cover the na-adjectives. Basically, na-adjectives are adjectives that don’t end with い. Though, there are special na-adjectives that ends with い.
What is
the difference between i-adjectives and na-adjectives? |
Part 1 of na-adjectives:
すきな – Like |
Romaji: Sukina
Kanji: 好きな
Example:
すきなひと。
(好きな人。)
(Suki na hito.)
The person I like.
しずかな – Quiet |
Romaji: Shizukana
Kanji: 静かな
Example:
しずかなばしょ。
(静かな場所。)
(Shizuka na basho.)
A quiet place.
げんきな – Healthy |
Romaji: Genkina
Kanji: 元気な
Example:
げんきなひと。
(元気な人。)
(Genki na hito.)
A cheerful person.
じょうずな – Skillful |
Romaji: Jouzuna
Kanji: 上手な
Example:
りょうりがじょうずなんですね。
(料理が上手なんですね。)
(Ryouri ga jouzuna n desu ne.)
You're very good at
cooking.
へたな – Unskilled, poorly |
Romaji: Hetana
Kanji: 下手な
Example:
へたなにほんごですみません。
(下手な日本語ですみません。)
(Hetana nihongo de sumimasen.)
I'm sorry for my poor
Japanese.
たいせつな – Important, Precious |
Romaji: Taisetsuna
Kanji: 大切な
Example:
それはわたしのたいせつなおもいでです。
(それは私の大切な思い出です。)
(Sore ha watashi no taisetsuna omoide desu.)
It is my precious memory.
たいへんな – Terrible, Difficult |
Romaji: Taihenna
Kanji: 大変な
Example:
ほんとうにたいへんなだからさ。
(本当に大変なだからさ。)
(Hontou ni taihenna dakara sa.)
It's really hard.
ざんねんな – Disappointing, Regrettable |
Romaji: Zannenna
Kanji: 残念な
Example:
ざんねんなであいでした。
(残念な出会いでした。)
(Zannenna deai deshita.)
That was an unfortunate
meeting.
べんりな – Convenient, Useful |
Romaji: Benrina
Kanji: 便利な
Example:
このみちはわたしのいえへいちばんべんりなみちです。
(この道は私の家へ一番便利な道です。)
(Kono michi ha watashi no ie he ichiban benrina michi desu.)
This road is the most
convenient way to my house.
きけんな – Dangerous |
Romaji: Kikenna
Kanji: 危険な
Example:
それはきけんなかんがえです。
(それは危険な考えです。)
(Sore ha kikenna kangae desu.)
That's a dangerous idea.
