For this week, the word of the week is:

やま
(yama)

Mountain

やま (yama) is the Kun-yomi of 山. The On-yomi is さん (san).

山 is the first Kanji that I’ve learned and the easiest Kanji (aside from the Kanji of one, two and three).

Examples:

かざん (Ka za n) (火山) Volcano	とざん (To sa n) (登山) Climbing	やまかじ (Ya ma ka ji) (山火事) Forest fire
ゴミのやま (go mi no ya ma) (ゴミの山) Mountain of garbage	さんりん (sa n ri n) (山林) Mountain forest	やまみち (Ya ma mi chi) (山道) Mountain road
